About the Artist
A great adventure, I explore Life with my art, mapping out meaning from chaos, I search for spontaneous points of intersection. The creative state moves me beyond painting external appearances to express inner states of being. Rhythmic strokes of Light open the sky, creating a field of color in my mind.
At some point, something larger than myself breaks through the boundaries, a dialogue with Primordial Self, speaking to me in a movement of color and form.
wonder, curiosity, and awe.
Its force is as intimate as my breath, with impact,
My passion is to paint ecstatic energy.
Art takes me to Life's depth, mystery and eloquence as it opens the senses of the Heart and the awareness of Self as Embodiments of Love; dynamic expressions co-creating in a Harmonious Universe.
Classically trained by a master painter from Latvia at the age of 11,
to render astute detail and luscious color, I went on to explore with each painting new technical and contextual territories.
I broke free of my classic training with strange textures I created using tobacco, sand, and caulking… long before you could buy
pre-formulated textures. I am fascinated by the contrast of rough matt to smooth translucent, vibrant color to monochromatic. I love exploring all the elements of art: color, texture, and the unique qualities of multiple mediums.
I employ several techníques to create a synthesis
of spontaneous abandon and architectural form.
The compositions come together in rhythmic counterpoint. Unusual textured impasto acrylics dance in concert
with sensuous oil lines, and luminous, luscious colors,
only achieved by oil glazing.
I never plan every detail of a painting. To do so would kill its spirit for me. There has to be Trust in spontaneous revelation, knowing that in the end it will all make sense. When I’m in the flow, the sense of direction is clear and I go for it without restraint, creating rhythmic strokes of light and color on canvas… Followed by moments of meditative stillness, trance-like, until I perceive the next phase. I have a fascination with the freshness of a spontaneous line, vibrant color and the mindful attention of space in balance. And so it is the reflection of pinnacles in my life.”
STAR BIRD OF PEACE
Kynthea designed STAR BIRD OF PEACE to commemorate the beginning
of the Young Astronaut / Young Cosmonaut Exchange Program.
In October of 1986, our Young Astronauts went to the Soviet Union and took with them as gifts to their Soviet counterparts, T-shirts bearing the STAR BIRD OF PEACE. While in Russia they toured through the country and were received by the Soviet government wearing these shirts with the Peace message. The United States and the Soviet Union celebrated this new program of which Former President Reagan was the honorary chairman.
The STAR BIRD OF PEACE is a "Spaceship" formed of the two countries on the course together through the starry heavens, bound for the STAR OF PEACE.
